I’m Brenda Williams, an executive leader, author, and coach whose life’s work is rooted in service, mentorship, and helping people rise into their fullest potential.
I spent 29 years in public media at New York Public Radio, where I previously served as Chief Diversity Officer and a member of the executive leadership team. In that role, I led enterprise-wide strategies focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging, aligning culture, leadership development, and business strategy to better reflect and serve the communities we reach.
Today, I am the President & CEO of BW Empowerment LLC, where I coach emerging and established leaders to lead with clarity, courage, and confidence. My coaching integrates leadership development, identity work, and purpose-driven growth.
I am also the author of Worthy & Wonderful: A Celebration of Girls Who Matter, inspired by my four granddaughters and written to affirm young girls, and the little girl in all of us, that we are worthy, powerful, and enough.
I currently serve on the board of the L-Train Memorial Foundation and as an advisor to the Cynthia F. Blaizers Foundation. I am a former board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Union County and serve on the National Advisory Committee for The Emma Bowen Foundation.
At my core, I believe leadership is about impact, integrity, and leaving people better than you found them.
